Hi All, Can We Talk About My Tv With The Poor Audio/speakers?

Thought I'd leave a post here to see if I can get some help regarding speakers for my Television. I don't see a board that relates to that, so I went to a forum that covers other things like the TV Speakers, but no one active, or not very active. You may have something and I just missed it.

Would someone let me know if there is a place here, or maybe one of you are just savvy on plugging speakers into my TV, and what I might get, thanks, denise:confused: PS if this board is for discussing things non-tech, I can talk baking cookies too:p

Hi outdoorgal. We are always up for cooking or baking and most of all eating:p. We use to have a Cooking thread but it has been inactive for a while. We can always resurrect it.;)
As for speakers it would be helpful to know if you want wireless or wired speakers, do you want to sit them on a shelf or the floor or hang them on the wall, and if you are wanting modestly priced speakers or high end. There are so many to choose from and a wide price range.

Ok, well, I wasn't sure you guys wanted to hear about my issue here, or in another thread;) but since you asked;)

Wired is ok with me since I'm just going to sit them beside/in front of the TV. Modestly priced, definitely. But not so cheap they don't put out any better audio than the TV does now.

I'll show you my TV specs, and a snip. Also speakers I have in mind. They are cheapies, but they have a USB which I'm not sure it goes into the USB on my TV, or the speakers:

    Sanyo 32", DP32242 HDMI TV

Link for some speakers I'm looking at:

Thanks much for your reply and help, denise

Well, your TV has -A coaxial digital audio output allows hookup to a home entertainment receiver amplifier system for theater like sound, so that's the one part.
So, it seems a coaxial connection is the obvious one-
Beyond that, concerning wireless, I am clueless.

The USB cord on those speakers is for a power supply. You can use any USB wall charger if the USB port on the TV doesn't supply power.

So that's not a "sound output" USB?

I have to get the other cords? I wasn't sure if USBs were made for audio-output.

Yes, you can buy those at most tv/audio/type shops.

So yes, I have to get those cords with the colors ends on them?

Here's the manual page with illustrations of the various connectors: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/306779/Sanyo-Dp32242.html?page=8#manual
I do not see a 3.5mm headphone or RCA output plug, which you will need for the speakers you picked. The only audio output I see is a coaxial digital audio plug. In short, I see no way for you to use those speakers.

I'm going to suggest this as I imagine you're not looking to spend a fortune: https://www.walmart.com/ip/RCA-RTS7019BE6-37-Sound-Bar-with-Wired-Subwoofer/54200294
If you get a digital to analog converter to use the speakers you chose, you'll pay the same, maybe more.

Thanks so much for all of this. I had a feeling isn't wasn't going to be simple or as cheap as 10 bucks;) At least now I know what I need. I had tried to shop for "all" that I need to have headphones but that was a real bust:( Way more money than the speak system for just under 50. I really do appreciate it:) and will have to wait for a bit to buy this, but I know it's what will work;) denise

I attached red and white RCA plugs to the back of the tv attached to a 20' cable. The other end plugs into our stereo system. I turn the stereo system on and set it for aux. The sound comes through the tv as well as the two speakers on the other side of the room.

    Thanks Plodr,

I don't have a "receiver" or stereo anymore, been years actually, since I had one. Thanks for the info though, I always appreciate anything I might be able to use.;) denise PS Love your avatar. I have a new one on the way too;)
