Why is Chrome freezing/crashing after just a few mins of booting in Win10? I really don't want to do an entire Reset in Win10.

WHY CAN'T I GET ANY RESPONSE ON THIS ISSUE? ANY RESPONSE OTHER THAN "FU!"

Because you don't want to reset the browser. That's probably the best bet or remove and reinstall. If you're logged into Google, your settings will be saved.

And don't talk to people you want help from like that. It's rude and disrespectful.

Thanks much, sir, for your brief, and prompt reply. Indeed, as you'll see in 98% of my posts, I'm not rude or disrespectful, and indeed observe that this is NOT a corporate forum for any particular mfr., and that everyone here is voluntary. I just thought that SOMEONE would have responded in some kind of way by now, even if it was an "FU" response. So, again, thank you for yours and it's promptness.

I have uninstalled Adobe Flash, Reset my browser, and re-logged in, and re-enabling my extensions as needed. Waiting until about 5-10 mins from now to see if it freezes like before.

    Thanks,
    GPL

Most of us here try to help based on our own experiences and OS/software combinations, don't expect a reply in a hurry from someone using W10/Chrome who's had crashing issues and worked through them.

Most people here are still on W7, I guess, where any crashing issues with 3rd party software have been worked out already and you would have been more likely to have gotten a timely suggestion or three.

W10 is still too troublesome for my liking, offers me nothing new that I need or would be useful, and I dislike Chrome/Google, so I'm afraid I'm of little help to you.

    Good luck.

    Satrow,

My sentiments on Win10 are EXACTLY the same as yours, however, the model laptop from ASUS I have won't accept any lower version than Win10. I've already tried to downgrade. What's worse is the PAINFULLY complex process that is VERY easy to screw up makes me want to take a stiff drink.

    Hi

Do you still get any freezing with Chrome at all after a re-install of Chrome?

Chrome will work ok With Win10 as I use it fine, if its crashing there is likely some other software causing it (3rd party extensions are the usual suspect), so a few things you can try are:
    1. Do not install any extensions to Chrome until fixed, uninstall any you may have added.
    2. Boot to Safe Mode (F8 at boot and safe mode with networking) and open Chrome, is it ok? IF OK then the issue in not likely with Chrome but another app., boot back into normal mode and can you list what startup apps you have and can do this by following the below.

    3. Can in normal mode run Chrome in its incognito mode as it doesn't have a typical safe mode option and here is a guide to do this http://googlesystem.blogspot.co.uk/2010/02/google-chrome-safe-mode.html if Chrome is still crashing in this mode then reverse the -incognito change as the cause is not an extension in Chrome.
    4. Need to know your startups for any other advise as the culprit maybe a security app.

The advice to reset Chrome is good. But people jumping to conclusions that it is Win 10-related is foolhardy. If it was intrinsically Win 10 related we would all have it, including my 4 Win 10 systems, and the now 40 that I help maintain. As for 'most people' are still on Win 7, I simply don't believe that.

    Hello Max,

Sorry but I don't recall pinning ALL of the blame on Win10, despite the fact I really don't like it, I was sincerely just trying to figure out how to fix it, which I eventually did. I did a simple Reset, and I haven't had any issues since. Now, I'm thinking since it was a relatively easy process, I'm going to start doing it maybe every 6 mo.s just to do a real "spring cleaning".

My issue is solved, but I don't see anywhere to "OFFICIALLY" notify readers that it IS solved.

I wasn't referring to any post of yours actually.

Glad that issue is fixed but what fixed it was it a reinstall?
Just helps others if they search for same issue.
