    Hi,
I accidentally deleted whatsapp contact and entire conversation. Is there any free tool or program which I can use to recover deleted contact and files on android device?

Thank you in advance for help.

In its default settings Whatsapp backs ups conversations and media, so unless you proactively turned it off, the conversations at least should be there, either locally on the phone, or on Google Drive if you use a google account on that phone. See if this guide helps:

    Hi Max,
thank you for helping me again. I turned off back up of conversation and media ... Is still there any chance to recover it?

    Many greetings,
    J.

A google search does show articles that suggest you can recover deleted data on an Android device (much like you can on a windows system) but I have no experience of whether that really does work or not.
And I think this is really a topic for the 'Smartphones and Tablets - Software' forum lower down, so you could private message ('start a conversation') a Moderator and ask them to move it.

OK, I will check out that forum, no not using it on PC. Maybe something like Mobisaver might be useful but have no idea if it works.

Thank you again for your willingness.

I use MyPhoneExplorer (suggested by MaxTurner) and it's a great free program.
But, it's not a file recovery program.
You install it on your PC and it will sync everything on your phone to your PC and vice versa, and can backup everything on your phone to PC.

The link in post #6 is for the 'client' that must be installed on your phone.
    Here's the program.

Try EaseUS MobiSaver for Android to recover your lost files.

The link u sent me ... isn't that the same program? Mobisaver by easyus?

EasyUs is good, I used it for data recovery before. But this version for android is paid version right?
Think like one free trial ...

I would not use any app that requires the phone to be rooted. One wrong step and your phone's bricked.
    Yes.
But the free version can only recover 1 file once - a waste of time.

OK, I wouldn't use that app. Therefore I am asking what do u think about it.
And mobisaver also asks for root. Isn't that dangerous too?

    Root is root.

Yes I know, but I need recover like one or two videos actually.
    But not sure about root.

Rooting correctly is not dangerous at all but, if the device is still in the phone manufacturer's warranty then it voids that. But if out of warranty, then if you want those videos you might just have to do that. But if you set Whatsapp setting to back up your data, you wont lose it. Using an app like MyPhoneExplorer as well means you can also save it to another device.

You are confusing rooting with USB debugging.
    Look at Step 2.
    http://www.thundershare.net/free-android-data-recovery/guide.html

While the software is free only for previewing the recoverable data, it's worth a try - if you can't preview the data, it can't be recovered.

Hi, I am not confusing rooting with USB debugging ... After debugging it says: Getting root permission unsuccessfully, please root your device first and try again.

    Hi Max,
my phone is still in warranty. I tried the first method u sent me and I was able to recover conversation but not media - videos and photos. Then I tried root my device with Kingroot and KingoRoot but it didn't work out. After this I found out that I need unlock bootloader but not sure if I should do that. Maybe not such so good idea.

Thank you for advices as usually :)

The publisher should have been more clear about rooting.

This message I received after trying program u send me. After connecting phone to pc via usb cable.

I just wanted to try recover media files without root. But it seems impossible.

You'll just have to forego finding the lost data at this time. But keeping Whatsapp back up settings, and saving data to another device using a program like the one suggested will keep your current and future data safe.
