Wake On Lan - Usb Root Hub Preventing Sleep

I ran an eventvwr.msc to see what was causing my computer to not stay asleep. It appears as though a USB Root Hub is awakening the PC micro seconds after it tries to sleep. I have looked at the properties of the USBRH's and saw nothing to change that could make an improvement.

How exactly would a USB Root Hub be functioning on my PC and is the hub actually operating some hardware that needs to be removed or changed??

I have researched this on the web but nothing is really leading me in a solution oriented direction.

Device Manager > USB Controllers > USB ROOT HUB > properties > Power Management > UNCHECK 'allow this device to wake the computer' > Click APPLY > click OK > restart your system.
If you have MORE than one USB Root Hub listed, you need to do it for all of them.

Sadly, from many internet searches this does not always work on first changing it.

NB: When posting for help you should always state what your Operating system is.

    Win10Pro X64
My apologies. I've been on here for a few years and just mistaking assumed knowledge was known about my system. That in itself was a pretty stupid assumption on my part; because, I have 4 computers. However, they are all Win10Pro x64. My fault for sure.
The question here would be - if they are disabled how do I get the PC to wake up out of sleep?? My practice over the years is to either use the mouse or the keyboard to wake up a PC. The keyboard I am currently using is a Logitech wireless. The mouse is an old MS Intellimouse leading into a USB to PS/2 adapter that is then plugged into the MOBO PS/2 port.

You can set the power button to wake up or even tapping on keyboard or the mouse, all set as below in Device Manager > 'apply' > 'ok' > restart
My preference is a short tap on the system's power button, as it is not USB related.

Thanks Max. I have been doing those settings for years. I am extremely familiar with them.
I wish to revert back to the immediate above reply from you. Apparently a USB Root Hub is preventing my PC from sleeping (per the eventvwr.msc report). For days now I have exhausted all 'checking' and 'unchecking' options within any area of Power Management. My problem is: trying to distinguish what the culprit could possibly be. I only have two USB devices - a mouse and a keyboard. The no sleep problem exists whether I use the USB 'wired' mouse plugged into a a USB port or whether I use the USB mouse plugged into a PS/2 adapter then plugged into the PS/2 port on the MOBO. The keyboard is simply a wireless Logitech keyboard so there is no alternative but to plug its Logitech Unifying USB Receiver into a USB port. I do not have an older PS/2 port keyboard to eliminate the Logitech keyboard. Kinda stuck here on how to proceed.

Is it possible that the eventvwr.msc report is misleading me somehow?

USB ROOTS are listed separately from the USB devices themselves.

I have had some success in the past with looking at the network card/adapter driver settings. If there is an option to "wake on magic packet" or "wake on link" or "wake on pattern match", you might try unckecking/disabling the option. I have found them in Power Management tab in the Network adapter Properties of Device Manager.

P.S.-I know what the event viewer message says, about USB but this has worked for me before.

Yes, but aren't the hubs (as noted in their respective Properties>Power settings) correlating to respective devices?
I will likewise try disabling the options mentioned by AtlBo

Well, that didn't work via initiation of sleep via the start power shut down/sleep/restart button.

Dekade...have you tried disabling wake from sleep for the mouse/keyboard? Could be the issue if they are connected via USB. Check them one at a time to avoid being shut out if one of them actually happens to cause your wake troubles.

Just now disabled the mouse again. The keyboard was not enabled to begin with. I have done the disabling on the mouse and keyboard many times without success.

The things that remains strange is that the monitor will go to sleep. The OS HDD (250GB Seagate 7200RPM - about 6 years old) will not go to sleep. The HDD just instantly turns back on when attempting to go into a sleep.
