Media Recovery From Formatted Hard Drive

Accidentally formatted. Need best (cheap) software for recovering
not only files, but file names and structure in folders.
DiskDigger is not pulling up file names, and it looks like I am loosing
a LOT of data.

I meant to format a flash drive, and clicked on my 2tb drive used for media.
I've gone through a LOT of "free" recovery tools, and found that all of them
want money after I scan.
I've come to the conclusion that there is no free recovery tool, is there??
Is there a way I can do the recovery myself? Previous versions is out.
If not, what is the cheapest ?
Right now, I have DiskDigger scanning, but from looking at a preview of a
couple pics, there's gonna be some lost data.

Go to Options > Actions and select Restore folder structure.

 

You might give http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/easeus_partition_master_home_edition.html a try. I have not used this particular utility, but I have found their drive back-up and copy tools to be very effective. It states this application has a partition recovery wizard tool.

 

Either Recuva, or my best options have been with what Spad posted. I formatted a hard drive several times over and was still able to recover files with that utility EASEUS.

All the freeware tools hosted on MG are safe.
If you need to recover something that was somehow deleted or lost, then much of your fears are pretty academic!
The issue is whether the recovery software - free or shareware - actually works.

 

ok It works and what about the information we are giving access to a third party? Pretty confused now.

Recuva worked, but still had to go through everything (1tb) and restore file structure manually.
