Iso

Hello
I know of the windows USB/DVD install tool and of Rufus.

A mod told me I can download an ISO file and right click to mount or open the contents which I can copy and paste to a drive. Not copying the ISO itself but the files within.
I have had various comments about this - could you please advise me if my way is possible.
I did it a while ago and performed a clean install of win 10 so it must work but likely not the best way.

I also have right clicked on the ISO and chose to burn as DVD/USB - this also seemed to work.

Lots of questions. The first is I'm not sure what you want to do?
If you put a usb drive in your pc you could write the iso to it.

But I really don't understand the question.

Just copying the contents may leave out requisite boot information. Your "burn as DVD/USB" choice is the best in Windows 10.

 

I'll try to make a bootable flash drive with the files I have and thanks.

After pasting the files from the DVD to the flash drive, I then booted off the flash drive and it did work. So no third party tools were required. This gives me a DVD and a flash drive as spare in case.
