Earlier this year the Portuguese Supreme Court complied with the lower appeal court in dismissing the libel case against the original Portuguese investigator, Detective Gonçalo Amaral, brought by Madeleine's parents.
Goncalo was convinced from the beginning that there was no 'abduction' and that the then almost 4 year old child died in the holiday apartment in Praia Da Luz while left alone by the parents to party with seven friends, from similar professional careers, at a Tapas bar locally. Putting aside the morally dubious action in leaving a toddler alone for several hours (in those parents' home country - the UK - they would have been investigated by Childrens Social Services and the child placed on an at-risk care register) the statements of those parents and their seven friends and others changed almost daily.
Those parents have friends in high places, one of whom being the former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, and £millions of pounds funding from the day of disappearance itself for work of the most famous PR company (Bell Pottinger).
The UK's Metropolitan Police Service has so far spent £11 million on investigating an 'abduction' when the evidence points to no abduction.

This is very interesting Max and a bombshell if true......... I think it has been well hidden for casual news readers like myself, of how the McCanns have top level connections to powerful people in high places. When news articles have come up I generally read them and over many years and for example, never realised they were friends of Gordon Brown or that they had a PR company managing their media and public profile.
Hmmm... begs the questions .... if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck then is it a duck........ I remember the first articles when the the parents were adamant it can only be an abduction because there has been no body found and Madeleine has apparently disappeared without a trace...... were they covering up something more sinister or implicating them in a far worse way than just leaving a toddler alone in a a flat in a foreign city while they partied elsewhere. Another question is why the mother refused to answer police questions and then left Portugal soon after the supposed abduction........

If the McCanns aren't hiding something then why do they need to have their public profile managed by a PR company?

Yes, there is now quite widespread dismay that, again, the UK government at the highest level have authorised further funding for the Metropolitan Police to continue to investigate a line of inquiry, ie 'abduction' - 10 years on - that appears to be a blind alley.
I remember the actual moment when I saw the newsflash of the child's disappearance as I was visiting a sister who had holidayed in Praia da Luz (it's a bit of a middle class white British tourist enclave where, in the spring to summer Brits outnumber Portuguese by about 60-1) the previous year.
I was shocked that two senior Doctors, comparatively rolling in money, felt it was ok to leave a toddler in an apartment (doors & windows were locked and no sign of damage from forced entry after they 'discovered' she was missing) for several hours while they partied with their 7, also mostly Doctor, friends at a Tapas bar. I'd proverbially have them horse-whipped for that alone given they could have paid a baby-sitter, or like most southern Europeans, actually take the child with them!
It's only in these last two years we have had the information about why the Portuguese ended their own investigation, and why the senior Detective who led it wrote a book about what he really thought happened.
How did two staff members from a part of the massive Bell Pottinger PR end up being in Praia da Luz the same day!
Why did more of their staff end up there 12 hours later?
If the child was 'missing' what tf were PR people needed there when a massive search was the most obvious thing?
There is speculation, but as yet no proof, that the McCanns' were inclined to use sedatives for their children at night. And all the evidence is that during the holiday they spent very little actual time with them as they were in a holiday complex crèche mostly while the McCanns had a good time!
The McCanns have changed their stories many times, refused to even answer any questions by the Portuguese police in the first few days, and a so-called 'sighting' of a man with a young child in the evening of the day in question by one of McCann's 'friends' has been shown to be utter bullshit.
In comparison to other known disappearances of children, this case does not compare at all.
Personally, I'm 99.9% convinced that Madeleine is dead - maybe accidentally - and it was covered up by the McCanns' and, due to Portuguese dismissal of their view, it has become a (very massively financial) crusade by them. They knew very well that even if Madeleine did actually die from an accident in the apartment - due to their negligence - they would quite possibly face charges of manslaughter. Both Gerry McCann -
Professor of Cardiac Imaging and Honorary Consultant Cardiologist - and Dr Kate McCann had a lot to lose - their careers and their other 2 children.

The question remains - What happened to the body?
As cruel or unthinkable as it may sound... parents have murdered their children for less.
If you have the money and the contacts, the body can be incinerated.

Based on all the facts, abduction doesn't seem a feasible explanation. Then there is all the involvement with shady detective agencies from several countries, the website charity setup plus the money laundering experts and add to that all the interference by British government agencies. Plenty of twists and turns and so many secrets that it plays like a movie plot.

There are so many things in this case that are not right and sadly it may have been so well covered up that the truth will never be known unless someone directly involved confesses. Of course someone close enough to confess would also be incriminating themselves so this is unlikely to happen.

Lastly what about the theory of MI5 involvement.........if this is true it is a bombshell

Until the Portuguese Supreme Court decision in February to throw out the McCann's libel action against the Portuguese Detective (the McCanns are now threatening to go to the European Court of Human Rights) and starting reading some of the blogs, I didn't realise quite how massive the corruption clearly is.

The conversations between Gerry McCann and one of his friends David Payne (who was with the McCanns during the 'disappearance' and who is one of the 'Tapas 7') recited in this statement are too reminiscent of Jimmy Saville for comfort.
There are also serious questions, unanswered by the British government, about a CATS case file from 2002 naming Gerry McCann. CATS was the precursor to later legislation that introduced the Sex Offenders Register. At the time CATS files could cover both physical and sexual abuse of minors and indecent image use. The files were a form of warning for authorities in the event of future inquiries.

Two other parts that are most relevant are (1) the, later deceased, elderly British ex-pat Pamela Fenn who lived in the apartment above the McCanns holiday apartment and heard, in her statement, one child that she was sure was Madeleine, crying very loudly for 75 continuous minutes in the late evening (before the 'disappearance') until the McCanns returned home from one of their nights out, and (2) the use by British authorities of two highly trained sniffer dogs - trained to identify human remains and blood - that led to the discovery of traces of blood in the bedroom where Madeleine slept and the boot of the McCanns hire car. All the traces matched Madeleine McCann in 15 out of 19 points. The manner in which the McCanns refuted/resisted the statement of Mrs Fenn and the use of the dogs and their findings beggars belief. Those dogs had a record of almost world renowned experience in discovering/identifying/solving many murders

The involvement at an early stage of Clarence Mitchell as the PR supremo (he was their lead for NINE years) clearly suggests involvement of people in the very highest echelons of the British establishment. Mitchell was an absolutely key figure in Tony Blair's government as head of PR for Blair's entire period in office and Blair, Peter Mandelson and Mitchell were the 3 most important figures. Mitchell was central before that in his role at the BBC covering three mighty cases: the Fred & Rosemary West murders of children and women, the Soham Murders (2 10 year old girls murdered by a school caretaker), and the death of Princess Diana.

This Tuesday 25 April the Assistant Commissioner of the UK Metropolitan Police Mark Rowley announced that a 'critical line of inquiry is still being pursued' but of course not what that is. The government's Home Secretary authorised a further £85,000 on top of the now £11 million of UK taxpayers' money spent.

The tenth anniversary of the child's 'disappearance' will be Wednesday 3 May 2017.
Given that the child, then 3 years old, was left with her two younger sibling twins alone, in an unlocked apartment of a holiday complex, at night between the hours of 7-7.30pm and as late as 11.45pm some nights, for at least five consecutive nights, 170 yards away from the Tapas bar their parents ate at each of those nights, why were no charges of neglect brought against those parents even though that is illegal in Portugal and a matter of child neglect in the UK?
The 'holiday' was NOT a holiday for those children as between breakfast and tea time each day they were in the Holiday Resort crèche. There are NO photographs of Madeleine anywhere outside that resort crèche. Given she was close to 4 years old any parent would take them outside.
Given that at the time Portugal was very well known as a European centre for paedophile activity, and these children's parents were very aware senior Doctors, along side their seven friends that they were with every night and who shared the 'holiday' and five of whom were also senior Doctors, who in their right mind would leave any child unattended in an unlocked apartment too far from where the parents were to see or hear them?
Why did those parents, days after the disappearance arrange for their 'story' of abduction be handled by one Clarence Mitchell who for ten years from 1997 to 2007 was Director of the Government’s Media Monitoring Unit during the time of Tony Blair as Prime Minister?
There are so many inconsistencies in the statements of the McCanns' and the 'Tapas 7' friends that it beggars belief.
No one believes the child's body will ever be found, just as no one even remotely believes she is alive, and whether the child died from the use of sedatives or because Dr Kate McCann - evidentially prone to fierce arguments with that child - accidentally killed her, we may never know. But the McCanns' look and sound like they are not going to break. But at some point, one of their friends will break.
