Avira And Iobit Issues

For about 15 Years I've been using IOBit programs with Avira Antivirus without any issues but today was totally different. All of a sudden Avira detects problems with all IOBit programs. Trojans but when I try to find out more about these trojans nothing shows up either on avira site or in google.
Yesterday no problem today problems... I just don't understand it at all.
Does anyone know how to fix this so Avira doesn't detect clearly wrong items?

Aside from updating Avira's definitions again, to rule out any rectified false positives, if it was me I would post on the support forums for both Avira and Iobit Advanced System Care.

Thanks for the reply, since I use avira antivirus free there is no customer service and under FAQ there wasn't anything so before i posted something on there I went on IOBit and someone already had posted the issue sadly no remedy for it.
I just deinstalled the antivirus part and since I use zonealarm I installed the antivirus part. Others have gone to avast. Maybe in time a fix will happen.

Open Avira's Settings and add the IObit programs to the Ignore list.

I use Avira free and have not discovered any problems with the Iobit programs I have installed on my computer being reported as viruses.

Did that but still avira quarantined the programs. put them in the ignore list for scanning and in the list for the real-time protection...

Well it might never happen to you. Like I wrote, I've been using both products for over 15 years without issue but yesterday all of a sudden when my pc booted up avira put all files from iobit (or most of them) to quarantine

    http://forums.iobit.com/forum/advan...ntivirus-incorrectly-identifies-asc-as-trojan
Thats the link, so there are a couple of people with this problem

and also avira updated the support virus lab, maybe just update the site if you look at it, when I looked yesterday 0 search results showed up and today (afternoon) the list had like 10 items in it and right this minute 13 items are listed... and these endings after TR/Decep.IOBit.XX in my list were at 20ish, I had GH, IJ ..... So the list will get longer.. I just hope avira does fix this, because avira has always been good to me.

It's NOT the FAQs. If you had opened the link I posted and read it, and the link it gave you, would have seen what it said about getting answers directly.
Read this window to the right side.

I did open that link and then went to the other link, 2 threads have been opened, 1 of them even one year ago but still no help concerning the issue...
For next time I know at least where to go if I need to chat to an expert.

Unless you ask a question - in the form I posted earlier - in the 'Avira Answers' box you wont get a reply. But Eldon's post shows someone else has.

    Hiya Eldon!

Can't find Avira's Setting (have the free version) and all the IObit programs have been quarantined (see my first post showing quarantined items).

I have been using Avira Antivirus for years (which I update daily along with everything else done daily as a housekeeping routine), along with Advanced System Care with never a problem.

Suddenly today my laptop started spitting up warning and virus alerts to be quarantined. When everything crashed, that's when I went through the process I posted, including downloading two Avira exe files to load onto USB for rebooting to go through a rescue and repair process as system kept crashing.

Having looked at your thread, it appears a number of people have encountered exact same problem before today...

Gone to Avira and noted this on their site which conforms with other complaints within this Major Geeks thread:

As Avira Support doesn't apply to "Free users", I could only refer to those posters and anything I were to add would only be a duplication.

Also noted this response from Avira support site which seems the only way to go for now re this particular problem:

    Michael Glasspool
System Administrators (IOBit) have been known to test their own products and may have explored different avenues for intrusion, whether passive or defensive. Since the reference to the 'Decep' has been made there's a similar tool identified for hacking but this goes back to a much older form of spyware. You may have to wait for an analysis and results from the Avira Labs.

Now, that aside, is there something else similar to Advanced System Care that I could use as a replacement?

    Thanking you in advance

    Cheers

    LS

I don't use ACS but there are many 'system optimisers' aside from Iobit, listed HERE.
I don't like them and so don't use them.

    Just an added note:

I just installed ASC as a test (having first created a system restore point), then I scanned every part of it with three different programs and these were the results:

    Comodo AV - 'clean'
    SuperAntispyware - 'clean'
MalwareBytes - 523 PUPs (potentially unwanted programs)

After the quarantining of those PUPs I could no longer uninstall it!

Having said that, I played around with ASC for a while - it's been years since I last tried it - and I hate it.

MalwareBytes did that to me too, but I didn't quarantine them since they are wanted on my pc ;)
Well, everyone likes different things, different brands and so on...

Interestingly, a PUP is NOT a Trojan. MB says PUPs, Avira says Trojans. It's a bit comical.
