After two years of not running it took me about 6 days to fully get it back in operation and it now has a bit of a kick to it's Speed.I bought a brand new SSD card for and it boots up in less than 15 seconds.

I overclocked the cpu just a bit and its fully upgraded in windows 7 and all drivers are upgraded.

    Operating System
    Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1
    CPU
    AMD Phenom II X4 965 103 °F
    Deneb 45nm Technology
    RAM
    8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 686MHz (9-9-9-24)
    Motherboard
    MSI 870A-G54 (MS-7599) (CPU1) 96 °F
    Graphics
    Hanns.G HW173 (1440x900@60Hz)
    1023MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti (EVGA) 85 °F
    Storage
    223GB KINGSTON SUV400S37240G SATA Disk Device (SSD) 83 °F
    931GB Western Digital WDC WD10 JPVX-11JC3T0 SATA Disk Device (SATA) 76 °F
    Optical Drives
ATAPI iHAS324 W SATA CdRom Device
    Audio
    Realtek High Definition Audio

I over clocked it a little to 3.5 ghz.

Speed Multiplier Bus Speed Rated Bus Speed Temperature Threads
    Core 0 3502.0 MHz x 17.0 206.0 MHz 2060.0 MHz 98 °F APIC ID: 0
    Core 1 3502.0 MHz x 17.0 206.0 MHz 2060.0 MHz 98 °F APIC ID: 1
    Core 2 3502.0 MHz x 17.0 206.0 MHz 2060.0 MHz 98 °F APIC ID: 2
    Core 3 3502.0 MHz x 17.0 206.0 MHz 2060.0 MHz 98 °F APIC ID: 3

I keep my big files like games on my secondary drive it's a 1 TB HDD WD drive too keep the speed of the SSD card.

I built this thing back in 2010 show's you how old this MSI build is.It has one of the first AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black edition and i like them be cause they are fully over clock able.

    Hey Wile

NICE my friend! What CPU cooler are you using? 103°F is just touching what I like as do tend to try and keep it under 100°F? but I see you have a small OC so that may account for that.
SSDs are the way forward IMHO, better when prices of TB ones comes down a bit, I have 2 traditional HDDs for mass storage of video, music etc but do have 2 other 256GB SSDs for other data like docs, pictures as way quicker to acccess, main drive is a 500GB SSD for Windows.

    Nice build

I use this heat sink from new egg.

I use my own fans i buy ones that have a high air flow or cfm.I can overclock that cpu to 4.5 GHZ but there is no point. The SSD runs fast enough with out the overclock.

The normal speed os 3.2 GHZ that is stock speed. On all four cores.

I have 6 fans and they are all speed controlled.

Just a fair warning for any one if you buy them Fan's they are loud like a jet.So you must get a speed controller.

At first boot they spin up at Max settings but revert back to your speed settings one you speed fan controller

I agree a fan speed controller or if they can be controlled in BIOS is great as you can balance cooling vs noice, I like less noise and current PC is dead quite, at times I think is it on! have a few Noctua fans lying around just in case.

I normally buy a few extra fans so that just in case one burns out i can replace it with out waiting for the replacement fan.

I had a fan all most catch fire due to that the system at the time was under powered. And the power cable to one of the fans started to melt.

So i had to replace my 550 for a 700 watt power supply 90+ Gold on new egg.

I like buying spar parts be cause you never know what might happen.

I have extra hard drives that have never been used just in case some thing goes wrong.

And i have been waiting to see if one of my Hard drives would stop working or burn out.And they are 16 years old and still running lol.ATA and PAT.

Always a good idea on extra fans, I keep a few spare just in case.

Have many HDDs and SSD spares and at least 6TB in space use them offline to store backups of data.

You like me Wile, in a tch horder monkey!
