Help With Files And Folders, Pretty Please.

Hello. I have an older Dell Latitude 3550, running Windows 7 Pro. Here's my quandary. When I open my documents all of my files and folders are arranged in alphabetical order with Z beginning at the top of the page and the A's at the bottom. Is there any way to reverse it, so that it's A - Z descending from the top? I know it isn't a major deal, but it is very annoying for me.

 

Open the "C" drive folder and go to the View Menu.

 

Thanks mdonah...however, my screen doesn't show a task bar at the top. Now what?

 

Just "left" click on "Name" (or whatever category you want to sort on). That reverses the order. If you want to sort on Date Modified, "left" click once for newest first, click again to toggle to oldest first. Want to go back to "Name" just "left" click on name.

 

In File Explorer Options, also check mark "Always show menues".

 

Open Control Panel > Folder Options > View and check Always show menus.

In the new version (1703) of Windows 10, Folder Options isn't available in Control Panel. It's now File Explorer Options and I told the OP to checkmark "Always show menues" there.

Congratulations, Dr. Moriarty...you win!! Funny how I brought my desktop back from the black screen of death (with tons of help from the forum, of course) but couldn't figure out something this simple!
