    Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (Build 7601) 64bit
I have been using superantispyware free trial period. With that I discovered that I have several unsigned services and drivers. One of them is McciCMService found in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Motive. It seems to be provided by Alcatel-Lucent for Verizon ISP. I know this because one of the files in this folder has the Verizon icon. A long time ago I uninstalled IHA via Windows and I no longer see it listed under Programs and Features. When I look into the programs list I see there is a folder called Verizon with a sub folder called Verizon Update Center and this contains 2 active programs namely inbox (DisplayAgent.exe) and Preferences (MC_Client_Preferences.exe). I am not able to uninstall this Verizon folder and I see nothing under Verizon is listed on Windows Programs and Features. I also see that under system configuration under services I see that IHA_MessageCenter and McciCMService64 is listed there. One possible solution I found was this https://forums.verizon.com/t5/Fios-Internet/Verizon-In-Home-Agent-Annoyance/td-p/189365/page/2. Here it states that I could simply delete the Verizon folder but then should I also delete the motive folder? I also tried using MicrosoftProgram_Install_and_Uninstall.meta in order to uninstall it but it couldn't find the program and was asking for the product code in order to look for it. I don't know what is the product code.

Rather than attempting to remove services and drivers solely on the grounds that they are unsigned (no big deal), I would suggest you first try to establish what they are doing. Download and run Microsoft's Autoruns and see if you can find these unsigned services etc and uncheck them. That will stop them from running at the next boot and give you time to establish whether there are any effects. The program has a search function if they are not easily found.

What do the color schemes mean?

    Yellow means item doesn't exist
    Pink means unsigned by MS
Blue lines are just section dividers

Is it safe to uncheck items in the registry. If not in what way can I back up these registry items?

Take a system restore point first, then uncheck the items in Autoruns and restart. However if your only reason for wanting to remove these items is because they are unsigned by Microsoft then I would not recommend even trying it. I'm quite sure, without seeing your Autoruns output, that there are many more pink items apart from the ones highlighted by SuperAntiSpyware. Are you going to be unchecking all of those too?
