The Best Alternative To Ophcrack?

My wife forgot login password of her Windows laptop. She said the password was more than 6 characters. I downloaded the Ophcrack and it is running for 8 hours. still not finding the correct password. Is NT Password a good alternative to it or there are much better option?

 

Which version of Windows are on the laptop?

Yes. I followed the steps in that tutorial. when reboot the computer, it still asks for login password.

 

Is this a BIOS password or a password to log into Windows? There is a huge difference between the two.

 

The default in Win 10 is to create a Microsoft account and login, in which case it isn't stored on the computer, it's on MS' servers and Ophcrack etc cannot find it. See if THIS helps.

It is not BIOS password. The password is used for login purpose. I can get to the login screen.
