I have an Acer CRW 6406EU writer. Have never used it much.......like new but old. ;) I need drivers in EXE file that will make it work on my windows 7 - 64Bit. I have searched and found the driver on one site but for some reason it will not run after I download it. And because it is so old, Acer does not even recognize it. Thanks much.

Do I need to just hook the CDRW to my laptop and it will detect it has no driver? Because right now, it is not even detected as being connected to my win 7 laptop.

Yes, connect the CDRW and let IOBit scan for missing driver(s). I had to for a couple of Devices under Windows 7.

It did update several drivers but it did not show drivers for the CDRW and I had it connected and turned on. ;( Thanks because it did update others.

The only other thing I can suggest is purchasing a new USB connectable CDRW or even a DVDRW. They're relatively cheap and Windows 7 should see the drive as soon as it's plugged in.
