For the past week windows 7 have been acting strange. I have been getting message saying Windows has detected an IP address conflict.

Another computer on this network has the same IP address as this computer. Contact your network administrator for help resolving this issue. More details are available in the Windows System event log.

I got this message about 8 to 10 times now this week.

You need to tell us about your setup. How many computers are on your network? Are you running a server?

Only one computer is getting this message. None of the other computers are getting this message.

On side note it only seems to happen when the computer comes out of sleep mode.

If the message disappears after a short time it's probably being caused as the computer refreshes its network connections when coming out of sleep and you can safely ignore it. However if the message persists you will have to answer TimW's question properly in order for anyone to be able to help.
