Previews- delay, until later , even until next months roll-out..
Other regular Tuesday updates,-- Look in at Nicks post, and past posts, and see what is reported as "dodgy"
Check through the list offered and have the download in the way, and to your choice- in Windows 8.1 you can see what is offered, and choose .
    I would say with
    KB3161102
    KB3184143
T o just look on-line to see if they are giving problems- I understand one was linked to slow start-up, but both gave problems with Windows 7
I think if you are in doubt, just check them out by simply copy and paste into web for search-

    Thanks. Just checked out 3161102.

Apparently, it can affect Outlook (which I don't use), Journal (which has been discontinued, and I'd never known existed), the snipping tool (which I do use frequently to post here but which was unaffected the first time I installed the update), and Windows Search. I hadn't noticed any problems with Windows Search but then I never use it. I rely on Everything.

I probably don't need 3184143. It gets rid of the Get Windows 10 app but I already have GWX Control Panel installed and running. So I might just hide 3184143. Can't make up my mind. Which should I do?

Quite candidly I think you are creating more problems than you are fixing. If an update has created a problem the uninstall that one. Forget about uninstalling suggested updates from other users... if they are not causing a problem on your system FORGET about them. Uninstalling one supposedly "dicey" updates impacts on others down the line which in turn plays havoc with your system. If you have concerns about the two that wile e coyote mentioned then don't re-install them. I have a number of updates that I never installed in the first place and my system still soldiers on.

Re-read "baklogics" post two up from here.

  9. Is there any website which attempts to maintain an evaluation, recommendations for the whole body of Windows updates?
