Windows 10 Little Box Doesn't Open Anymore...

Hello again,
The warning message to say 'it is now safe to remove the USB' no longer opens. The computer makes a noise as if something has happened. A box used to open after the sound, It no longer does.
I miss it.
This of course happens after I Safely remove hard ware stuff.
Any thoughts,

You may find clearing the old connections will sort it out- if there are several items in the list it could cause this problem.

I have many USB connections and the remove hardware shows only the
removable connections.

What you actually do is to clear off all old connections - Windows keeps it in memory/history.
Driver booster will do it (a tool of Iobit (Advanced system Care ))
- I am not sure, but I think the free version will do the same (mine is pro version)

Thank you TimW, My problem is a little eclectic.

When I choose an icon to disconnect, choose and the Windows exclamation sound occurs. After this a box used to open saying it was fine to disconnect the hardware.
That same box no longer opens and I was wondering how I could encourage it to come back.
