I was wondering of is possible to find a housing for my external Seagate External backup hard drive. I would like to use this a an additional storage housing fir hold information. The drive measures 4" x 5 3/4" x 15/16".

Doesn't it connect via USB? Are you trying to install it inside your tower?

Was this an internal hard drive that you are using externally?

All my external hard drives (I have 7 Western Digital) came housed.
The 6 newer ones are small. The first and oldest one is large with an on/off switch.

Thanks everyone. The drive I am talking about is from an old Seagate external hard drive back-up system. Since I have stopped using this as my back up, I was wondering if I could find a housing that would work with the external drive, and the over all dimension form the Seagate system is 4" x 5 3/4" x 15/16". I was hoping I could use this as an ordinary external drive housed in a box of some sort.

I am confused. You used it as an external backup....but now you want to reuse it as an external backup.....but only now in a box????

Could you please supply a photograph of this drive for illustrative purposes?

The Seagage system will allow the drive to be used as backup only. I don't have the ability to partition the Seagate drive as a stand alone external drive at this point. I misspoke because I want to use this drive in conjunction to my computer's drives. Especially for files that are old and that I only access once in a while for research and for writing technical papers. If I am able to use Seagage drive as an external drive this will minimize cluttering my computer's drive with old files and using space unnecessarily.
