How to download u tube videos to hard drive, I would like to know how to do this; I know that there is legal aspects on this, but I have read that you can do this on u tube as long as you are not going to try to market them if you burn them to a cd.

You can stream videos with any pc or mobile phone. Even our tv provides this possibility. I do not waste diskspace anymore for things that I can access everywhere. That way you don't have to worry about legal aspects.

    I use this -

I do download music videos for personal entertainment offline. But I also get training videos for my trade and other self help videos posted by equipment manufacturers and tool suppliers on how to do / use products for my trade. (HVAC)
I just browse to the topic I'm interested in and once I find the appropriate video I copy the address bar then paste in in the 'paste url' tab of freemake.

This can also be done for computer repair video on different subjects so you can watch on a different computer while you work on another.

What version of Windows and what browser do you use?

I no longer burn to disks. But if it is a video, I think it would need to be on a DVD rather than a CD.
I save files on sd cards. That way I can pop the card into a laptop and watch what I want.

I use two tools for this, on Firefox I use the "Video Downloadhelper" (Link), which is also available for Chrome. (Link) There's also a website that'll download the video for you too, if you don't want to install any plugins. Link to website. (The website is surprisingly fast.)

  7. I was using Freemake but they changed the downloading size on the new update where you have to pay for the premium version to get any further. YouTube Downloader HD is the best.

That's why I don't update some programs. If it works as I need, I leave it as is.

  9. Do you have a link to older versions of Freemake because it is still superior with its features and the GUI is great but I have updated then deleted because of the changes.

The problem here is Youtube videos aren't guaranteed to be always available. I never used to bother saving them to view offline as I just save into my favourites on Youtube. I was surprised that over several years about 20 videos were no longer available (and still can't be found) so they disappeared from my favourites.
Now if I find a really rare music video or something funny I want to keep then I use Wise Video Downloader as it is freeware and Freemake is ad supported. Another good thing is Wise Video Downloader is portable and only 2.7Mb.
