I am going to update my Windows 10 , but for inexperienced people, I think it's a very difficult task, because my friend's computer crashed because of the upgrade.
So i need some suggestions for this task , what should i do before update Windows 10 ?
    Thanks

best plan would be to buy an external hard drive and cloning software.
create either a bootable DVD or usb thumb drive with the cloning software.
plug in, connect, and turn on the external hard drive.
boot your computer with the newly bootable DVD [ or usb drive ] cloning program.
clone your entire C: drive to the external hard disk.
then you can try the upgrade.
if the upgrade blows up on you,
just reboot the computer again with bootable DVD [ or usb drive ] cloning program,
and choose to recover your computer from a saved image.
and you will have your computer back as if nothing had ever happened.

    good luck with it.

The thing with Win 10 is that you have very limited control over updates. The first most users know that their system is about to be updated is when they shut down and are given the option to update and shut down or update and restart. But updates are only one of many reasons the system may suddenly run into trouble, including viruses, so having a restorable image, as has been advocated, is necessary. Those who fail to do so will, one day, find their system unusable and won't have a clue how to get it going again.

Fortunately there is no need to buy cloning software as there are several free and very competent programs available and I strongly recommend you get one asap and practice using it. For newcomers I would recommend Aomei Backupper Standard as it seems for newcomers it is the easiest to use, but there are several other very competent free programs available. You do need a suitable external drive to store the backup is it does need sufficient space and cannot be stored on the drive you are backing up.

So don't wait until Win 10 wants to update itself, do it now!

Thanks ,I just talked to my friend.he advice me to remove all the login password and backup all the data for Windows 10 ,We believe that the reason for his Windows update failure is the lack of computer skills and the lack of computer update skills.

By rights, Windows 10 will not change after the upgrade, but I had a similar problem last week when I upgraded, I guess I missed an important step or made a mistake when I was updating it.
this problem has given me a headache.my computer has been on hold for five days.
