There are so many places I want to visit but the one place I've always wanted to go to is Australia. I love the accent and what I've read and watched about the culture of the outback people. They also have unique animals that don't exist anywhere else. I'd love to hold a koala, see a kangaroo, visit the museums. What is the place you dream of visiting?

Australia is up there for me as well...but only after my husband retires and we can go for at least 3 weeks. The flight is too long and the country too big for me to want to go away for less time.

My top pick right now would be Italy. I'd love to go photograph that country...both the country side and the towns. I'd also love to go take a cooking class.

It's interesting hearing what people would want to come to the US for. lol...sounds like you would basically be doing a trip to California with a short side trip to Vegas.

3 weeks at the very, very bare minimum......If your able to plan for 8 (2 months), you will go home with a bigger smile!

Besides, the salt-water crocodiles need a couple weeks to work out where your staying ;)

I won't fly, but would love to have a month or more to tour a lot of the US that I have not seen yet. Maybe see a little of Canada. Maybe tour some breweries and gun companies... :D

New Orleans for the food and music. Japan, to see Fuji. India, for the food. Thailand, for the food. Scotland, for the scotch (duh). Iceland for the landscape. Norway for the coast and islands, and the seafood. Southern France, for the food and wine. Italy for the coffee and the food. Argentina for the wine and food, and the music.

    I'm sure I've forgotten some places. :)

So many places, so little time.....OK maybe start in USA in Seattle Washington, take an Alaskan Cruise, one that involved both land and train trip through Alaska. See the Northern Lights. Next catch the Canadian Rocky Mountain Train travel coast to coast from Vancouver to Halifax.
Hop-on and hop-off train for sightseeing along the way, stay a night or two along the way and catch the train again to continue on. Maybe take a day trip from Toronto to see Niagara Falls. Train trip ends in Halifax Canada.

I'll go with you on that trip. I've always wanted to ride on a train. I also love the mountains.

Justin you see things you won't see driving a car. We caught the Empire Builder Amtrak in Chicago and went across the USA west. Also have ridden Amtrak from Salt Lake City through Colorado
Rocky Mountains to Chicago. Slept in the little sleeper. Enjoyed both trips.

This would also be on my list, forgot about it. I have heard the Alaska cruises are a lot of fun.

If you have never been The Great Smoky Mountains from Gatlinburg Tennessee to Cherokee North Carolina are beautiful and amazing smoky colors in the sky, beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Lots of hikes to water falls, lots of black bears and elk.
The mountain part is great. The cheeseie tourism part in nearby Pigeon Forge is better off missed.

Been to the Smokey Mountains lots of times but never knew there were black bears there. One thing you forgot to mention is the smell of the trees. Very fresh and clean.

We have seen bear going across the road while going over the mountain a few time. The bears cross the road and the tourist stop traffic to watch them. We have seen bears in Cades Cove and a family of bears walking right on edge of road on the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail. Bears come into Gatlinburg after dark to raid trash bins at restaurants and hotels. A bear broke into the candy store in Gatlinburg and wrecked the place trying all the candy, it was still in the store when the owner came to open the next morning.
You might enjoy this video of a bear breaking into a car to steal picnic lunch in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Clingmans Dome. It get's interesting at 3:00 minute mark. Notice the dumb people walking around like a bear is not a wild animal.
