Ground beef, minced onion, mild minced peppers, pinto beans in a mild chili sauce, and last but not least tomato sauce.
Beef was cooked JUST RIGHT. Then the rest of the stuff was dumped in. Topped it off with shredded mild cheddar cheese.

The best part is enough left over for breakfast tomorrow.:p:p

It is so hot..... currently 42.6°C which is 108.7°F so we are having smoked chili and garlic marinated chicken wings cooked on the BBQ with some nice cool salad and then fruit salad and ice cream.:D

Oh well my niece lives in Mildura which is north Victoria on the border and the temp hit 46.2° C which is 115.2°F and they put up a sunshade and sat in the pool all day with the kids

The meal i made is really good.I came up with it my self. You can try it for your self takes about 10 minutes minus the water boiling.

When the water is boiling and the egg noodles are boiling turn it down a couple of notches so it does not over boil on to the stove.

Ok here is what i mixed together.

Half a Bag of Light 'n Fluffy Extra Wide Egg Noodles 12 oz bags.

Two or three cans of upload_2018-4-2_17-35-26.jpeg

Then mix about 6 hand fulls of colby jack cheese shredded.

This should feed at least 4 people.Or 1 for 2 or 3 days.

    You get your meat,calcium,fiber.

I would make small pot first to see if you like it.It fills me up after two small bowls.

Going to Secret Men's Business tonight........this means a nice restaurant where 5 friends each bring an old bottles of wine from our cellars (I am bringing a 2001 Tahbilk Reserve Shiraz) and we eat some yummy food. We usually start with a cheese platter then go to a dozen oysters kilpatrick each then either eye filet or scotch filet steak and either salad or vegies then some kind of desert. I will probably have baked cheesecake or I may have tiramisu depends if someone brings a desert wine.......
My mouth is watering already :)

    CAVATINA
1 bag Egg Noodles, or pasta of your choice, cooked and drained
1 lg. jar spaghetti sauce, add 1/2 tsp sugar and 1/2 tsp Italian Seasoning to sauce.
1 - 8 oz. pkg. shredded Mozzarella cheese
1 lb. ground beef, cooked and drained
Put cooked noodles or pasta in 9"x 13" baking dish. Add cooked ground beef and cover with spaghetti sauce and top with cheese. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake until cheese is melted, about 10 min. Serve with baked bread or garlic toast.
If you want something more spicy add 1/2 c. chopped green peppers and 1/2 cup chopped onion sauteed, 1 pkg. pepperoni slices, and 1 small can mushrooms, drained.

    Chicken thighs, potatoes, and carrots.

    Pre-heat your oven to 400F/200C.

Cut the veggies into inch-sized chunks. Dump them into a Dutch oven.

Drizzle olive oil over the veggies. Grind black pepper over them, and scatter a layer of dried oregano over them. Stir.

Lay the chicken thighs on top of the veggies.

Pour three shot glasses' worth of water into the Dutch oven.

Put the lid on your Dutch oven and put it into your actual oven for 20-25 minutes.

Take the Dutch oven out and stir the contents. Thoroughly.

Put everything back in the actual oven for another 20-25 minutes.

    EAT.

Nope, regular water. Any other favorite kind of liquid goes in a glass next to the plate when it's time to eat.

Would love to try a traditional SA meal baked in a Chugunok!
Using Baked milk to make cakes n pies sounds interesting.
We often use a version of your Potjie out camping here in Oz......cant beat its tendernous and flavor over hot coals i reckon ;)

    Not in South Africa.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dutch_oven#Chugunok

While the South African 'potjie' is round bottomed, the flat bottomed potjie is not that uncommon - especially for baking speciality breads. And it's actually better for browning meat and chicken prior to cooking.
    No argument there.
For some unknown reason (to me at least) a potjie, when done right, is one of the two best ways (my opinion) to cook meat.

It is cornmeal, egg, milk, onions and spices mixed, rolled into a ball and deep fried to golden brown on the outside, done but a bit moist on the inside. Takes the place of bread. A typical fish dinner around here is fried fish, with side dishes of white beans, potatoes, cold slaw, and hush puppies. I like everything in this dinner but the fish. I usually get chicken breast strips with it if I want meat.

Instead of hush puppies, I prefer corn fritters.
