I use Hotmail.com and have for years. my email address is as per my login. Now I receive emails regarding cannabis, loans etc which I don't open because when I hover over the subject matter in the inbox, it shows that the email was sent by my real email address which it is not.
Someone is sending emails out to god knows who and saying they are from my email account. I cannot block the emails as you cannot block yourself.

I don't sell cannabis or Viagra so how can I stop someone from sending out emails from my account????
    Any help would be appreciated.

I bet that the actual email address is not quite your real email address. There is an extra character, or letter or number or space, something that is different from you email addy. You need to mark them as spam.

Your hotmail account has been hacked. Change the password and warn your contacts, as they will be getting this junk too.

I tried changing password twice and it is still happening. I'll try again. Thanks

I can't find any difference, maybe I am missing something. They generally come in as junk mail but I am worried that they are going out to my contacts who think it is me pedalling Cannibis.

First, use a different computer ( Friend or relative) to change your password.
Second, I guarantee there is a slight difference in the email addy. If you want...PM me with the spammed email addy. I will check it with your email addy on your MG's account ( assuming that is the one you used to register.)

Your email address could of been harvested by any number of means, that does not mean you were hacked. You can put any 'reply' or sender address in an email and make it look like it came from anyone. Now if those emails are in your sent messages - then you've been hacked. They can use your exact address for spam because they are not expecting the person getting the email to reply, most will have links to sites expecting the receiver to know "you" and trust the links / information contained in the email. Or they can make a link (in an HTML) email that looks like your email address, but is not when you mouse over it. Changing your password will not stop this. It's kind of like spoofing caller ID..
