File Format Identifier.

My ISP has been sending the monthly statement via SMS.
But, it's a file without an extension!
Now, before I phone the ISP and tell them I have eaten hamburgers with a higher IQ than their decision makers, does anyone know of a software program that can identify the format of an unknown file without an extension?

I have tried...

Locate Opener.
It can't identify the file, asks to Check online, and then the folder with Locate Opener opens.


Smart File Advisor.
It also can't identify the file (Filefacts.net) and then suggests to download... Smart File Adviser.

PDU files can be opened with any text editor, but all I see is garbage!

Detect File Type.
This online service says it's a DOS executable (COM, 0x8C-variant).

Any suggestions before I make that call?

 

How about trying to print the statement instead? I got a lot of hits googling print sms message on android.

Not an option.
I receive the sms messages in my browser via the Vodafone Mobile app.
All I can do is open or save them.

I did try this service prior to posting.
It also identifies the file as DOS executable (COM).

 

That sort of exonerates your ISP - not too many ppl read SMS in a browser! But I seem to recollect you using a Samsung?

 

I use a Vodafone Mobile Wi-Fi/USB modem. When I connect it, the app opens in my browser (Firefox).
