Dirty Keyboard Will Slow You Down!

thought i would pass this along, discovered this by accident, took my keyboard apart and sucked all the sawdust out with a vacuum, after replacing, the computer runs faster and the fan doe not come on!

turns out a clogged keyboard will cut off circulation and make you run slow do to processor heat,

you can buy replacement keyboards and find out how to install on youtube, or if your cheap like me, remove the plastic back and use a vacuum, be careful with the ribbon cable,

 

Of course this is with a notebook, not PC. And actually, this has been a known issue for notebooks for years. Most notebooks are designed to radiate heat up through the keyboard. When dust and debris block that flow of radiated heat, it causes the computer to go into thermal protection mode, and throttle down in speed. A sufficiently cooled notebook will run at full speed.

A layer of dust will act like a very good heat trapping blanket. It will also clog air vents and heatsinks, and if allowed to build up, will weigh down and slow down spinning fans.

Did you really mean "saw" dust as found in a wood shop? Or just regular dust that is found everywhere? Frankly, an environment full of sawdust is no place to operate any computer. The cooling fans will pull in the sawdust along with the air, pack it in all the cracks and crevices, and layer it on top of everything inside the computer. The problem with sawdust in particular over regular dust particles is it is much more flammable - even explosive if it gets near the right heat source - like an overheated, malfunctioning notebook battery!
