Sad News For Music Lovers

Sad news for music lovers.....Aretha Franklin has died aged 76 from the advanced stages of pancreatic cancer. She was a legend, the Queen of Soul and a lead voice for civil rights and she had huge hits like Respect, I Say A Little Prayer, Freeway Of Love, Spanish Harlem, Think, Sisters Are Doin It For Themselves and many more.

That's a shame Tim as it would have been a great concert if she was on her "A" game on the night........I had a similar concert where I paid exorbitant ticket prices to see Whitney Houston in the 1980s and I walked out after the third song as she was nearly incoherent and had clearly been taking too much junk before coming on stage. The only real singing was from the backing singers and the band but they weren't the star that people paid to see. Shame as that is how I remember her now
