Can any one help me try and get my hp 17-g121wm connect my new Bluetooth headphones.

I have been looking through info for a while and can not seem to find a solution.

I am running Windows 7 64bit Pro.The laptop originally came with windows 10.Due to problems the original hard drive bricked it self.So i needed a replacement hard drive and windows.Windows 7 was the only OS i had full access to.It's not that i hate windows 10.It's just it messed up a new laptop when it first came out. That's the problem i have with windows 10.

But any way back to my problem. All my drivers are fully updated and so is windows updates.

My Head phones connect to my cell phone perfectly fine with out issue. And the battery charge last 14 hours.I even use them cutting grass. My head phones have a pretty long range signal.I can leave my Cell phone in the house and go out side and stay connected.I don't know how far the actual range is.But it's pretty far for a head wireless head phone.

These are the headphones i bought at walmart.https://www.walmart.com/ip/Blackweb-Foldable-Bluetooth-Wireless-On-Ear-Headphones-Black/351449991

They do not have one of the USB receivers like you use with a wireless mouse. But I have another pair of wireless headphones that does have a receiver and it all does not connect. But the mouse does.

I even have the Bluetooth settings on in services.I have them set to automatic so they should be connecting though the device section.Right???

    But it's not.

    Any ideas.

If you use a Logitech unifying receiver for your mouse or keyboard then the setpoint software has a tool for assigning other devices (up to 5 total devices) to the unifying receiver. My one I have a mouse and a keyboard as well as some bluetooth speakers in another room. I have never tested the range but the speakers work a couple of rooms from my puter :)

Here is a link to Logitech support Setpoint downloads

I now only use Win 10 Pro 64bit so not sure how it goes with Win 7 Pro but I don't think it should be a problem as I had the same unifying receiver when I was still running Win 7 Pro 64bit two years ago (because the unifying receiver came with my bluetooth keyboard/mouse combo) ............although I didn't have the bluetooth speakers then.

You can get the knockoff unifying receivers (still branded Logitech) from china for under AU$10 with free delivery. Here is one for AU$8.28

    Good luck :)

Hi wile, not all bluetooth devices are compatable with eachother. I'm betting you've figured that out by now.

I have really nice 'over the ear' Bose bluetooth headphones designed to connect to my cellphone but they won't connect to the ASUS BT400 USB dongle I use with Win7 and Linux - yet my Honstek K9 portable speakers do connect very nicely - so you'll just have to find compatable headphones as I must too:mad:

I think there is a bit of misunderstanding here. The Logitech unifying receiver is not a bluetooth device. That receiver will not work with any bluetooth devices. Older computers didn't have built-in bluetooth, but you could add a bluetooth USB dongle. Many newer computers or laptops have built-in bluetooth. So no dongle is required.

I assume you went to the HP website and downloaded the hardward drivers for your laptop and installed them before you did ANY Windows Updates which you need to control to just the immediate updates and hold back on the recommended ones which most are no longer needed - so instead of 187+ updates you will only have 147+/-

Also, re-read what your headphones were intended to be used for! Clearly says they're for Android and iOS cellphones

Hmmmm.....that is probably why my new android phone can't connect. I only just moved house and haven't had time to follow this up but it is on my to do list once I finish unpacking all the boxes and finally get the place into some semblance of order.

I just presumed it was bluetooth as the unifying device is tiny compared to the old Logitech wi fi dongle that had the reset button on the top of it.
