Hello Geeks !! So I'm experiencing problems with my ACER ASPIRE NOTEBOOK ( 5750 ) with WIN8.
Basically I've been using it for Audio & Music recording for the last 5 years, and it always worked pretty nicely for being a budget product....

But I'm having specific problems lately, related to HDD Access Time it seems from scanning with Crystal Disk Info.

    1) Firefox started working soooo slowly to open pages, I had to uninstall it and put Opera instead. Tried everything, even older versions of Firefox, but it basically stopped opening pages (endless loading time)

    2) Stuttering performance with Cubase / Reaper, ESPECIALLY WITH MIDI . Tried all possible midi drivers out there, 3 different USB Audio interfaces, still Midis won't play perfectly in time.

I'VE TRIED DEFRAGGING and HDD Scan software, and it found 2 corrupted sectors IIRC crystal disk info.png

You might ask yourself why I still use MIDI, well I've been using it since the SoundBlaster time and I prefer it to VST Instruments because it's so quick.

I use it with Band in a Box, PowerTab, Guitar Pro and Reaper, and it used to have tight timing.
Would really appreciate some suggestions on what to do. I've already made a Backup with an External Drive
and I've got a new WIN7 installation disk ( the computer had WIN7 pre installed and I have a KEY )

    Crystal Disk Info Report attached.

    My specs :

    ACER ASPIRE 5750
    Intel Core i 3 2310M
    Intel Hd Graphics 3000
    4 GB DDR3
500 GB HDD WDC WD 5000 BPVT

    WIN8 PRO

    MOTU MICROBOOK Audio Interface

The HDD is failing as indicated by the Current Pending Sector Count in CrystalDiskInfo.
    Replace it.

Wow.... :( That really sucks. I was hoping that a Hard Format could re-allocate the damaged sectors ( defrag showed 2 or 3 RED sectors ). I will replace it then. Thanks for your help !

Excellent, thank you. That was the same brand I was looking at, BTW should I look for SATA 2 for my pc ? My chipset is i3 instead of i6 as stated in the link you provided (guess it's an older version of computer and it had the i3 ? ), so should I go with the MX500 SATA 2 instead of SATA 3 ?

Check if the motherboard supports SATA 3.
