Screen Shot Malfunction

System:
Win 7

I want to do a screen shot, but am unable to. When I use shift, prt sc, I get no response.
Tried to find trouble shooting info for that on net, but, but info was conflicting.

 

When you use PrtScn the resulting snapshot is held in your clipboard. If you then open Paint you can paste in the clipboard contents with Ctrl V or use the menu. Shift + PrtScn gets the current window, PrtScn alone gets the whole screen. Alternatively you can use the Snipping Tool from your Start menu. Usually the Snipping Tool is preferable except if you want the screenshot to include any dropdown menus when it's best to use PrtScn.

 

Get error message Snipping Tools not working on my computer. No reason, suggestion is restart computer. No solution given, will chase problem on net.

Take your time and follow the instructions carefully.
It's recommended to run the program in "Safe Mode With Networking". Restart and run the program a second time.

FYI I use FastStone Capture (Windows 7) which is much better than Snipping Tool.
