Laptop Gone Wild...

    That's really the only way I can describe it. Hopefully, my video link below can give a decent visual.

    Acer Aspire ES1-572 Signature Edition
    Win 10 Home
    6100U CPU
    2.30 GHz
    12GB RAM (8 added recently)
    64-bit

    Not 100% sure this is the right forum to post this, but...

    A brief background of my issue-
    The Acer is a relatively recent laptop that started acting up after my pet rabbit peed on the keyboard. Keys would display different symbols when struck.
    Bought a new keyboard, watched videos on how to install (seemed relatively easy enough).
    Installed the new keyboard. Admittedly, the ribbons were tricky for me, but I managed to get them in. However, when I restarted & tested it, it was clicking/dragging when I wasn't trying to do so.

    Bought an external mouse & the mouse itself was fine, but it was near impossible to actually click on anything with all the weird goings on; Suddenly opening several folders, multiple times, refreshing the desktop randomly, long lags, clicking & dragging desktop stuff I only hovered over, etc. The video link below is a short sample of what I'm seeing.

    Virus?

    Any suggestions on a next step? I'm ready to smash it to pieces.

    If the keyboard rests on top of the motherboard without a heat shield for protection, then it is likely that the urine got on the motherboard and its components.

    The motherboard should have been removed and flushed with distilled water before the acid in the urine reacted with the metal tracing and other parts of the motherboard.

    Take it apart and flush it now. Allow sufficient time for everything to dry before assembling it again. There is no guarantee that the damage can be undone.

    If it still acts up, you might be looking at replacing the motherboard.

    @Rickenbacker, if you're going to smash your laptop to pieces you might also consider preparing Hasenpfeffer. LOL
