I have access to a WinXP computer and want to add things to the SendTo folder. I tried searching for the files that appear in the SendTo menu but couldn't find the folder. How do I find the folder that contains the SendTo menu items?

    That's because it's hidden.
Go to Folder Options and show all files.
Then you'll find it over here: C:\Documents and Settings\Name\SendTo

I thank you. Is there a way to show just this one folder other than using attrib in the Command Prompt?

    Start > Run > Shell:sendto

Drag and drop or remove shortcuts...

    Just a thought...
You could create a shortcut to the SendTo folder.

I thank both of you for your input. Eldon: I don't want to do that because the computer in question is used by those who don't know what they're doing. :( cipher: I'll try that.

I thank you for the link. I plan on using SendTo Toys now. Just two things: when I use a folder short-cut on a Win98 system, it results in a move on same drive and a copy across drives. Does it do the same on WinXP? How do I get Win98 to copy to the same drive in a SendTo short-cut? Also, is SendTo Toys compatible with Win98?

I just tried to install SendTo Toys on my Win98 computer. It didn't work. :(

I don't use SendTo Toys, so can't answer that. But with nirsoft's special folder view being displayed
I can create a shortcut to any of the folders by-
Right click on 'send to' in the list
    >select folder properties
    >click on location
    >click find target
    > select either
    ...Send to >desktop (creates shortcut)

    or-

Create shortcut......... This will make a shortcut right there in the folder you're in.

Then this shortcut can be copied and pasted any where you want.
I keep a folder called 'Utilities' where I have shortcut's for many tools I use often, for ease of access.

Special Folders View from Nirsoft doesn't require any installation. If you get it as a 'zip', just unzip it to any location you like. (mine's on the start button > all programs menu.

I use FSL Launcher and Quick Access Popup to store my short-cuts. :)

I want to disable the Hidden flag on just one folder under WinXP other than by using the ATTRIB command under the Command Prompt?

Right click on the folder, in the drop-down menu select 'properties' near the bottom of the list, in the box that pops up, uncheck the 'hidden' box.

My mistake. I asked a stupid question: I should have realized the Properties menu. :( Thank you for the info! :)

Glad it worked! I did try in one of my virtual xp machines and it -didn't- work. Thought I may have jumped the gun on something so simple. Guess the virtual machine is a little more restricted.

Good to see you get it going!

It didn't work yet. I don't currently have access to the WinXP computer, so I can't try it out. :(
