Fix Text On Mismatched Monitors

I've had a 36 inch ultra-wide monitor running at 2560x1080 for a while now (and I love it). I recently mounted a second 27 inch monitor above it (for extra workspace). Even though the second monitor is slightly smaller inches wise, its resolution is slightly higher at 2560x1440.

In Windows 7, I have my text settings at 125%, as I find the default simply too tiny. I notice that the second monitor, due to the higher resolution, is shrinking the text down smaller compared to what I read below. The Windows setting seems to scale this universally, and I can't find a way to focus on just the new second monitor.

So in short, is there a way for me to bump up the text size I see on the top monitor, while keeping the bottom monitor the same? If not through Windows, maybe a third-party app or plug-in?

First and FTR, I don't understand how anyone can live with just one monitor. I don't care how big it is, one is not enough!

That said, it has been many many years since I used two different size monitors, but when I did I had similar problems as you do. So I bought UltraMon – as I indicated, it is not free, but worth it IMO. You might also check out DisplayFusion multi-monitor utility. There is a free and several pro versions to choose from.

Thanks for the suggestions. I checked both of those out. And while they do have some cool features, I'm not seeing an option on either of them to change the output resolution of one monitor to match the other. I assume I'm going to have to downscale my second monitor to from 2560x1440 down to 2560x1080 (which is what my ultra wide is running at). Otherwise, the wallpapers, icons and text will not match. Does either of those programs do this or something similar?

    UPDATE:
In doing some more research, it looks like matching the resolutions isn't really possible from what I can tell. If I do it in Windows, the top monitor cuts the bottom and top of the screen off with bars in order to size it to match the other resolution.

So I guess I'm back to my original question. Is there a way to change the text size on one monitor to match the other? That's my main issue.

Sorry neither of those programs helped and unfortunately, I have no other suggestion except buying another monitors that is the same size.

No worries, I appreciate it anyway. Looks like Windows 10 has separate DPI settings for each monitor, too bad I'm on Windows 7. Would be nice if I could somehow force my other monitor to size to 2560x1080 without the bars at the top and bottom. But that might be asking too much.
