Color Stuck Pixel Help

I have a single green pixel on my new monitor. I thought it was a "hot" pixel, but I read those are black or white and are dead. But colored can sometimes be fixed.

I tried every method I could find. I've used LCD, JScreenFix, UDPixel and the manual method (of pressing on the pixel itself while power cycling). Nothing has worked. I even made sure it was powered off over night. Nothing works.

Is it just stuck forever? Is this a sign of things to come with this new monitor?

Thanks. I gave that a try, running it for about 25 minutes on the multi-color pattern but it didn't budge the pixel. I guess it's not going any where

Could be and no. That is, it could be stuck forever but a stuck pixel today does not suggest you will have more to come.

When you say you "powered off" the monitor, did you unplug the monitor from the wall (or flip the master power switch on the back of the monitor - IF yours has one)? If you did not unplug from the wall, you merely put the monitor in standby mode. That may not be good enough.

Check your warranty - NOW before time runs out. This includes the return policy from the place of purchase. Most warranties cover stuck pixels, though there often has to be more than one. The manufacture's warranty will spell that out. You may need to look for their stuck (or dead) pixel policy on their webpage.

Note too the warranty support depends on several factors including number of dead pixels, the location of the dead pixels, the color of the dead pixels, the size of the LCD screen. For example, a single dead pixel in the lower corner of a 32 inch monitor probably will not get you a RMA for a replacement monitor. But a bright red pixel stuck right in the middle of your 24 inch monitor might.

If it is less than 30 days since you got this monitor, I would return it to the place of purchase as most have a "no questions asked" return policy - though if you bought it on-line, you may have to pay for return shipping. Some retailers have a return policy good for 90 days, 6 months or even 1 year on some items. Check it out. If you exceeded that time, check the manufacturer's warranty.

If still within warranty, contact them.
