How To Get My Monitor To Cooperate

I'm running my Xbox HDMI signal into my PC for capture using an Elgato HD60. It has a separate out so I can take a second HDMI cable and run it to a TV (to play while I capture). I run this to my ultra wide monitor on my desk which is not 16:9 (resolution is 2560x1080). So needless to say, the resolutions from my Xbox One at 1080p don't match up. So the computer monitor just stretches it.

I can't find any settings in my monitor to keep the aspect ratio correct and simply use black pillar bars on the side. Xbox also has no such settings. I may have to use another alternative, like running it through some kind of external hardware first. Any thoughts on how to unstretch this?

Actually, I just figured it out. The setting was buried in my monitor menu (1:1). Please delete this as to not clutter up the forum.

NO! This should NOT be deleted because someone else with the same problem may be able to benefit from your experience. That's what forums are all about! Learning and sharing what we have learned.

Thanks for coming back and posting your solution.
