Wireless Printing Is Not Possible From One Of Two Laptops

At home I have 2 laptops running Win 10 on a wireless network, and an android cell phone with a printer app installed. I have a Brother wireless printer (HL-3170CDW) connected to the network, and devices haven't changed in over a year.

Until last week, both laptops and my cell phone could print. Now... one of my laptops can no longer print. The laptop simply states there's a printer error.

I've run the printer troubleshooter, canceled and cleared the print queue, restarted and re-connected the printer to the network, rebooted the router and laptop... all to no avail. After a re-boot when I look at 'Devices and Printers', it reflects 0 documents in the queue, but when I try to print any document I receive the same error. The laptop in question seems to have no other issues, and the second laptop and cell phone have no problems printing documents.

no idea for an actual fix. but you can work around it by sharing the printer on laptop #2,
and have laptop #1 print to the shared printer. it's not ideal, but it should work.

Have you tried running a re-install of the Brothers print drivers on the laptop in question?
Could have had another process or service interfere with driver communication?

Check that the Brothers networked printer is still set to 'default' printer under 'Devices & Printers'
