Image Format Change (jpg To Gif)

Does changing a picture from a jgp to a gif remove location etc. information?

 

Yes.
Metadata isn't supported by gif, only by jpeg, tiff & raw file formats.

Any reason why you want to convert from jpeg to gif?
Gif only supports 8-bit colour i.e. 256 colours.

 

I just wanted to post some pics online and email a couple of them too, but don't want my person info included.

 

Right-click the file > Properties > Details > Remove Properties and Personal Information.
