I replaced the battery and reset and saved the bios boot priority and date & time. I'm gonna shut the comp down for a bit and see what happens and cont to monitor.

I shut it down for over an hour and no issue during the boot. It seems ok at the moment. Will cont to monitor.

It started again. Got the reboot and select the proper boot device.

I’ve have noticed on a couple occasions after getting this message ( and after I unplug the sata cables and replug them into another slot), I do a power cycle a couple times and it recognizes the drive again.

It seems like the motherboard wants to retire.

Is there anyway to run a test on the mb health?

    Not with software.
And equipment to test a motherboard cost more than a PC. :(

Is there any other things I can try or rule out before having to basically rebuild a new comp?
