Can't Repair Office Starter 2010

when I click on "change" for Microsoft Office Starter 2010-English in control panel; it states "can't repair----needs internet connection"----I obviously do have a connection and tried restarting---need help---can't access documents in Word

 

Good luck in finding a solution. I use Open Office and I wondered if you could open your Word documents from it?

I Googled "Microsoft Office Starter 2010 repair needs internet connection" and this was at the top of the list:

I have found that open office willopen word documents, but it might not be exactly the same as you created it.
Some files will not open in office starter
Files in the following formats:

• .dsn
  
  
• .mde
  
  
• .accde
  
  
• .odc
  
  
• .udl
  
  
• .wll

These files do not open in Word Starter.-So check the document properties.
If you want to, you can re-download office starter from here, and try a re-install repair
