This message (see pic) locked up one of our computers; eventually the computer self-rebooted. Has anyone seen this and should we be concerned?

In a second pic, you can see part of the very long URL.

We ran Malwarebytes. It didn't find anything ("No threats detected").

    Thanks.

Delete it and don't look back.

If your paranoid, change some passwords. It's good to change up every once in a while anyway. Even if you have a password manager, let it manage some new ones!

There was nothing to delete. There was no email involved. A website that the user visits regularly was open; he was reading a page but didn't click on any links on the page. The graphic seemed to spontaneously open/pop up on the screen, then froze the computer, including the mouse. The user tried Ctrl Alt Del a number of times but nothing happened. After a while, the computer rebooted itself and Task Manager was open when it rebooted, so the user closed down the browser, then ran Malwarebytes.

Strange occurrence. We wonder if anyone else has experienced this or knows anything about it.

    Thanks.

If the website has a 'contact us' link you might let them know in case someone is trying to hack their stuff.

I'm assuming the user didn't navigate to the shown addy 'leaverally.xyz'.

It sounds to me that a site they regularly use has been spoofed or hacked or otherwise compromised.

It's still a per-caution to run scans.Web sites like this are very questionable and should be treated as such. You can still get any thing from the web any more.No matter if it's a website or not.Even cookies can be nasty. If left spoiled for too long....

    My thoughts exactly.

I searched for leaverally.xyz and no results.

Then I used DOMAINTOOLS and found...

Yep, we noticed the atrocious English and that the number doesn't belong to Microsoft. Thanks for the domain tools link; I see that leaverally is in Quebec and was created on Aug 28 so has only been around a few weeks.

Thanks to everyone for your comments.
