Originally I was having issues on my old system and thought it was the ssd. So, I reinstall win7 on a new ssd and then started getting the slow down/freezing. Very weird. I'll try the dism and then the other

Not sure. Run sfc and dism again? See if it finds more errors. In the old days (and still), the rule with chkdsk was to run it over and over until it reports no errors. Could be the same for sfc and dism.

If Satrow is around, he might know what the messages mean. Perhaps someone else may know. Looks like dism ran on 8-5-19 and found errors. Did you run dism back then about the problem you are having now? The error messages mention drivers, and Satrow is the best with drivers that I know of here at MG. This is interesting and may provide some insight, but your most recent scan didn't contain errors. Anyway it's a short forum thread and may be worth reading for you:

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...-scannow/2673620a-9e42-4a32-a828-88851e9280d1

Took a look at some of the files reported missing in the CheckSur report. Here they are by name:

    mstscax.mof->associated with terminal services
    mstscax.mfl->associated with terminal services

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/termserv/mstscax

    aaclient.mfl
    seguisb.ttf
    segoeuil.ttf

Do you use remote desktop? Maybe there is some kind of corruption in RDP.

So as soon as you install your drivers, the problem begins, or this sounds to be the case. Well, it's no fun, but maybe you need to try removing some drivers. Printer driver might be really old and a good place to start.

When you reinstalled Windows 7 earlier, did you download drivers from the manufacturer of your PC or manufacturers of your PC's parts (by this I mean whichever applies)? I see the motherboard CD mentioned. Shouldn't be those if they worked before the issue appeared.

THank you both for this info..I'll take a read...no I do not use remote access. I had to use the MB cd to dl drivers and some from the manufacturers website and some from windows. updates.

Could this be an internet connection issue? My browser freezes as well.

So just to confirm, you are still having the problem and the problem does not occur in safe mode...is this still the case? Please boot into safe mode and confirm this to be the case.

As things have gone, I would really double down at this point and try to do everything in a single sequence, building on what I tried before. For example, carve out 2 or 3 hours and get ready to troubleshoot and go back to the beginning. Turn startups off and leave them off for the duration of your troubleshooting. Each time you change something, leave the PC in the changed state. This eliminates potential questions as you move through troubleshooting. The more you go down the troubleshooting list, the more inconvenient the troubleshooting may become, so be ready for this.

Went back and looked at the startups and processes that were running on your PC. I notice that some of the below weren't in your list of startups. You have had many "exotic" processes running on the system, and these exotics seem most often to be the behind this type of issue. Some in the below list are from task manager and are probably simply processes that were running on the PC when you took the picture, but good idea to keep all your startups off until you can trace this issue.

    4cyoutubeto...
    Bethesda.net
    DAODx.exe
    eso64.exe
    GameOverlay...
    iCloudService.exe
    ISUSPM.exe
    iTunesHelper.exe
    jusched.exe
    i.Core.exe
    logitech_gdisc...
    pdfPro5Hook...
    pptd40nt.exe
    Q?????Engine...
    SyncServer.exe

Generally, try to limit what is running in task manager to Windows and critical processes only.

Try going back to Event Viewer. If there are errors in the Critical and/or Errors headings of EV, get a screenshot while the E-V is fullscreened. Plodr is right, there are usually a number of errors in there that are related to a personal Windows/program setting choice and so on, but there are also application errors sometimes that can be helpful. Prntscrn to get the screenshot. Then scroll down and see if there are any that seem telling. Mostly, post the types of errors you are seeing.

Did you ever test after uninstalling Microsoft Security Essentials? I would try this. o/c testing to see if this fixes your issue means no a-v while you test. If this concerns you, you could try another. If you aren't sure about what to use, I recommend installing FortiClient, because it's simple, reliable, and effective:

    https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/forticlient_endpoint_protection.html

Other options are Avast, Avira, Bitdefender, Kaspersky Security Cloud, and many others.

If you are worried about being able to reinstall MSE later, it can be downloaded here at MGs.

Take a look at Start->right click "Computer"->Manage->Device Manager to see if there are any yellow triangles in DM. There doesn't have to be a yellow triangle for a driver to be causing an issue. Helps to know if there is one though.

Irregardless, I would try the motherboard manufacturer's (Asus) website to see if there is a more recent chipset driver for the board and/or network driver for your ethernet/network card. If this doesn't solve the problem, I would move next to the graphics card driver and check for update from the EVGA site.

If, after testing problem is still present, go to Start->type services in the search box->open services (small blue cog icon). Look over the list and type all of the ones that seem to be something other than Windows into a Notepad. Copy the list and paste it here. These can many times be disabled safely during troubleshooting and then restarted later. Example is your printer service. It can be safely turned off during troubleshooting. Printer won't work, but at least you will be learning more about what is/isn't causing the trouble.

Still don't think this is a RAM issue. You have alot of installed software, so that's what I suspect, although network drivers seem to cause these issues sometimes too, I have noticed. If your network driver is out of date, problems can occur. If it were the actual network card, you should also be having the issue in safe mode with networking, which apparently you are not.

I'm an inch from recommending installing NoVirusThanks EXE Radar Pro, just for its logging. It logs all process startups at any time during run-time, making it possible to see what started when the lagging begins/began. It also autosaves the log to a file in its folder. I use it for troubleshooting when I need to know what has been running. Even found myself from time to time going back months for a log back when I used ERP for security. Maybe you could try this later.

To get to the bottom of this one, I think you will have to be single minded and really focus down hard to do whatever you must. After each step, you will of course have to test, which could take some time. I am still fairly certain it's a running process causing your problem. You have many services on the system that aren't Windows services. Turning them off might bring resolution.

No problem. Wish there was an easy way to resolve this kind of issue, but your idea sounds like the best way in your situation. Looking forward to hearing what caused the issue, so please do post back...
