Number Keys On Keyboard Not Working.

Attach a USB keyboard and also try the onscreen keyboard. (osk.exe)
Post the results. That helps narrow it down to a hardware or software problem.

 

What that tells you is there is a hardware problem with the keyboard in your laptop, since a USB connected keyboard works and the onscreen keyboard works. Unfortunately, because the laptop is 15 months old, it is no longer under warranty.
You could try spraying the keyboard with canned air in case something might be causing the problem. If that doesn't work, you have several choices:
1. Attach a USB keyboard or use a bluetooth keyboard when at home
2. Use the onscreen keyboard when you are out so you don't have to carry an additional keyboard
3. Get the keyboard replaced or replace it yourself. I'm not sure about the cost. We had the keyboard replaced on an Acer Aspire a few years ago. It cost a total of $65. That included a new factory keyboard and installation. (There is a small 1 man operation repair shop near us. He does good work and doesn't gouge you with prices. He replaced the keyboard while we watched and I brought the old keyboard home just in case I have a problem).
