System: Windows 10 Home version 1909
    HP laptop 17-by1xx
Laptop WiFi device: Realtek RTL8723DE 802.11b/g/n PCIe Adapter (from Device Mgr)

I connect to the Internet via Cox cable. My cable modem has two WiFi connections: 2.4GHz & 5GHz. My Windows 7 laptop can see both connections. But my Windows 10 laptop can only see the 2.4GHz connection. How can I configure the laptop / Windows 10 to see both connections?

The RTL8723DE is a non dual-band 2.4GHz SoC. You will never see the 5GHz connection and would need to change to another adapter.

I'd check the documentation before hand, however. HP are known to lock down hardware and one can only add whitelisted upgrades.

Thank you!!!! Had not occurred to me that the Wi-Fi interface would only be single band.
    Much appreciated.

That's quite alright. I'm glad this helped.
