Cannot Get Chuwi Laptop Set Up

    Hello,
I just received a Chuwi Herobook laptop from Wish (purely because I'm broke and can't afford a proper one from a country other than China!). Predictably, the damn thing won't boot up because I just get to the Account part and try signing in with my MS account, only for it to leave me with a message of 'just a moment' that never changes.
I have looked around about the problem and it sounds like I have to access the BIOS to turn off the Network Features. However, despite doing this and finding the Boot Menu, there is only one boot option available so I can't do what some online solutions are suggesting which is to create a local account and boot up using that.
I have now forcibly shut down the laptop several times without ever getting the chance to use the machine. The real kick in the teeth is that the only insurance from Wish lies with sending the item back for around about the same price as the item itself.
Does anyone have any solutions? Thanks in advance for any support.

If you are running the setup on a new device, do it offline (ignore net conn prompts) to avoid any account sign-in requirments.

I hate to break this to you, but pretty much all laptops come from China nowadays....

@ Replicator - That's what I'm trying to do but I don't know how. I entered my WiFi password on the first attempt and haven't been asked for it since. I understand that I need to do this offline and to disable network connections but haven't a clue how to do that. The BIOS doesn't seem to give me the option.

@ Mister Krinkle - Isn't that just the parts? HP and Dell are USA, Acer are Thai...and they have Western standards. Pure Chinese technology always tends to be poor quality in my experience.

Or at least many if not most of the components inside do! They may have been designed in Japan or Korea, but were likely made to specs (hopefully) in China.

All you need to set the bios for is to boot from a USB device.
You should have the OS install on one.

With Win10 or 7 installs, your prompted along the way (select custom install)

For a clean format, I prefer to delete all existing primary drives n partitions (C), then reconstruct one for OS install.
Dont mess with your data drives! ;)

Thank you for all your help, folks. It seemed to sort itself out when I went to set it up at work and I managed to get a local login prompt. To be honest, I can't remember how. Anyway, I'm pleased to report that the laptop looks like it was a real bargain!
