If you have a hard time keeping dust free computers like me.Even though i clean every other day and wipe down walls. Here is a DIY tip.

You can buy all this stuff local or find deals off of amazon or go to Walmart.Walmart has box fans that normally run for about 18 dollars being about the cheapest up to 20 or 30 dollars.Or what most people don't know is Walmart can all so price match another store. So shop around.

Things you will need Box Fan,Duct Tape,Air Filters for furnaces.

If you all ready have Box fans you can re-purpose them into collecting dust in your most active rooms. Some people Go all out on this and make a wood box fit a box fan to collect dust from wood and such. There are a few videos on you tube on how to do this.

The Box fans i use are similar to this 20 inch box fan.I bought mine 2 years ago.

Like i said you can find them all most any where.

But if you have them all ready all you need is the 20x20x1 Air filter and duct tape.

I would at least get a 8 to 10 rating for fine particles. But they can cost a little more.

Most of the air filters have a arrow pointing on which way the air flow goes.Just like computer fans.

Just fit the Air filter on the back,Or where it sucks the air through. You can tape the air filter around the edge of the fan to kinda seal it.

And to make sure it's working for you. Here is a tip. When it's dark turn out all lights turn on a flash light be hind the fan and see if dust is being pulled through it.You can all so use a cell phone flash light as well.

You can all so switch out duct tape for Zip Ties.Which ever works for you.

FYI you can all so see spider webs this way lol.

I would go with this type of Air filter.

Coyote, is your suburb in a very dusty sort of environment which gets into your house?

Do you shut down or have your computer running 24/7?

Even before I bought my Lenovo ThinkPad (e.g. laptop) when not in use, I'd always shut down the old work or home IBM PC, turned off the monitor, then I'd place a cover that fitted over my computer equipment and printer - this kept all devices dust free regardless how long in between use. Did the same in the work environment.

So much easier now with my ThinkPad. Just shut down, close lid and it's "filed" away when not in use. So I never have a dust problem.

My printer also has a plastic cover over it when unused. Suggest you think of trying the same.

When you rebuild a house for a year you kick up a lot of dust. The house i rebuilt was built around 40's pr 50's.Had to bring it up to code. Most homes need at least 3 doors for fire safety regulation's. This one only had 2 and no basement door. And i had to get the basement walls re-done because there was a tree on the one side and made it collapse. So a basement wall and roof was in-order. All so had to deal with mold problems.

Reason why i use Filters on Box fans.

All so a lot of people in wood shops do this DIY for fine dust from wood and it works.

Well another reason why to do this is.If you got dog's and cat. This will help keep the pet dander down. Some people have allergies to dog's and cat's.

My place has dusty areas where there's activity, open windows and doors...but I've found book areas with minimal dust and/or rarely needs dusting are those sitting on cabinet shelves of flat packs I had bought and assembled, (which I had measured to attach a couple of doors that were in storage, once belonging to an old wardrobe I had tossed out).
    upload_2020-7-23_22-12-58.png
Did the same to a stack of kitchen shelves where I attached a couple of louvered doors I had kept from a dismantled wardrobe. Adding the doors turned it into a neater pantry, then painting the lot made the area look fresh, tidy and better than staring at shelves of groceries, etc. - done on the cheap:)
