I can log into my Windows 10 laptop
    Dell Latitude e6430
with my Microsoft account and pw.

But when I try to get into Safe Mode the password does not work.
    Is there a fix?
I am concerned this is malware of some sort, it is a recent thing within a week.

There is only one user on the laptop, me, who is also Admin.

I would be happy to have no passwords on this laptop, is there a way.

I searched online for help and instructions:

I tried Disable Sign-in Screen on Windows with netplwiz
    But it did not work.

Turn Off Sign-In Password on Windows 10 with Administrator
But it REQUIRED a password, I could not leave it blank.

Sorry, I rarely use forums so in advance, forgive me.

    TIA

You will need to know your admin password to perform admin duties within 10.

Do you own the network your connected too?

As you are using a Microsoft account you probably need safe mode with networking.

    Hi,

I have had this laptop for 5 years, and used Safe Mode with networking and never needed a different password before.

I am the administrator and that is the only account on the laptop.

    So could this be malware?

    I use Verizon DSL wifi.

    Hi,

Yes I wanted to use Safe Mode with Networking but I am unable to get in now.

I tried both with networking and without, and the Microsoft password I use to access the laptop, does no longer work for Safe Mode, and this is something new and recent.

Try temporarily switching it to a local account. You might be able to get into Safe Mode then, perhaps with a new password. This tactic has just solved a different problem for me.

I am not sure if this is important to add.

I probably should have included it in the above.
    My browser has the problem
"Your browser is being managed by your organization".

I don't know if this could have something to do with this new password for Safe Mode was created.

I have tried so many things to get rid of it. Once with OO Shutup and regedit in Safe Mode I was able to get rid of it , for about a day.

Searched youtube for fixes but nothing works.

    Hi,
    Thank you.

I am not sure how to do this local account, but I can google or youtube it.
I do better with a visual aid.

I did not want to add other accounts on this laptop, but I suppose to get around this problem and get into Safe Mode so I can try to get rid of any malware and the managed by your organization problems, I could try and then remove the account, hopefully it is easy to do.

I am under a storm threat, so may loose electricity any minute so may take me a few days to learn about it and try it.

Start > Settings > Accounts. The ink to use a local account instead is in the right panel. It doesn't add a new account, it just changes your existing Microsoft account to not sign in to MS at boot and is easily reversed when you are done. Not sure just what you are hoping to achieve in safe mode as all it does is switch off many services that would otherwise start at boot. You can check for and remove any malware right here at MajorGeeks -

    Hi Earthling
    Thank you.

I have downloaded from MajorGeeks anti-malware but it is not catching as it should, it is more successful in safe mode, where I download a fresh version to install and run it.

Do you mean when you said "You can check for and remove any malware right here at MajorGeeks" that I can also remove malware connected to MajorGeeks without first downloading?
