I am thinking of resetting or refreshing my PC. When I bought it the PC came with Windows 7. When Microsoft offered a free upgrade to Windows 10 I upgraded it so now I have Windows 10. If I reset or refreshed my PC would I still have Windows 10 or would it change it back to the original OEM version of Windows 7.

If you type winver into the search box on the taskbar - next to the windows start button.
Click on the Run command button a Windows 10 box will open and it will state the version that is running.

    Hope that helps.

Thank you and that's what I hoped to hear. Now to make the decision about doing it.

Thank you. I know the version of Windows I have. That isn't the issue at hand. I wanted to know if I effectively roll my PC back will I be rolling back to the Windows version that it came installed with or if it would keep its latest version which is 10.

Does your pc still have a hidden recovery partition?
Do you have an installation usb that you used to upgrade to 10?
Do you have files you need/ want to keep?

I do not know. Is there a way I can find out?

    No, I simply updated online.

I do, yes. I shall copy them to an external hard drive I have even if I go for the option that's supposed to retain your files.

Go to the start button and type in "Folder" in the search box.
    Then select
Folder Options > View > Show hidden files, folders, drives

If you have the recovery drive it should now show up. That will be a Win 7 drive as was original.

Right click the Start button and select Disk Management. Maximise the new window and maximise the Status column. If you have a recovery partition it will now show, and if the free space is less than the capacity you do have an active recovery partition. If you run recovery it will revert you to the position prior to the last feature update but as you have not said what version of Win 10 you are currently on we can't say what version that will be. However it will NOT be Win 7. As said, by typing Winver in Search you can establish your current version.
