Audacity Settings.

I have Audacity and I wanted to know if anybody can help me with 2 Settings?

In the Bottom Left Side of Audacity it Says Project Rate Hz.
And you can pick
8,000 Hz
22,000 Hz
441000 Hz
and so on.

If I have an Audio File open and Select the Whole thing then Change the Project Rate to something this will Change the Sample that is was Recorded at.

Am I Right.

You must select the Project Rate (Sample Rate) before importing/opening the file.

 

Ok I Open Audacity and go to the Bottom Left and Click Project Rate and Set it to 44100 Hz.
Then I Open my Audio File.

Now I Look at the Bottom Left of Audacity and the Project Rate Changed to 48,000 Hz.

So what is going on I thought you Told Me I have to Set it before I Open My Audio File?

 

Preference should be set before importing files. Then you alter them as needed.
