Hi - as the title suggests, I have hit upon a stumbling block and the message on the screen is not terribly helpful and I do not know how to proceed. I'd really appreciate help if possible. I'm usually fairly conversant with computers / windows / software etc but this one has me stumped.

I switch on and I get to the bit where it is going to install Windows and select country preferences then I get the screens pictured. Can anyone advise what I need to do? This is a friend's laptop and I confidently told him I could fix his laptop! Incidentally I downloaded the Installation files on my own PC on to a USB drive and plugged that in and ran setup.exe

Thank you very much in anticipation of your response!!

This belongs in hardware, and you will need to supply hard disk make and model.

    Make and model please...

If the windows install list is empty and you are not seeing the hard drive. The hard drive could be missing or not connected properly. You might have to open the laptop and check to see if the laptop hard drive is connected to the motherboard.

Thank you for your response. Yes - I wasn't sure at first if it was hardware or software but I do see your logic - thank you I shall repost there. :)

Thank you for your response. It's a Seagate Barracuda 120 SSD. It's definitely connected as its presence is recognised in the BIOS setup program - see photo. I'm reposting under the hardware as someone kindly mentioned this is in the wrong section, if you wish to respond further.

**** PLEASE DISREGARD MY QUESTION ABOVE AS THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN SOLVED ****

I have been looking for a way to delete it but couldn't see it.

    Thanks to the responders.
