Run regedit and see if you have a restrictions key in:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\DeviceInstall\Restrictions

If you do, look on the right hand pane for any policies.
    e.g. DenyRemovableDevices

By default, there is no Restrictions key, so you can either right click on the Restrictions key and Delete or
right click and Delete any policies in the RH pane.

    Did this just suddenly happen?

    Have you rebooted?
    What is the hardware?
What version of Windows? Is it current?
    Have you scanned for malware?
    Are cables tight and secure?
Have you tried a different keyboard?

    Hi Digerati
    Its a Ratel gaming keyboard.
It worked fine prior to a driver update. My spare usb keyboards works just fine.
    Windows 10 Home version 1909.
Scanned for malware using malwarebytes, the keyboard litghts up like its trying to engage then nothing.

Then I would delete the drivers for that keyboard, reboot and try again.

    Okay
The issue seems to have resolved after I went into regedit and deleted things per this article.
    https://www.minitool.com/news/this-program-is-blocked-by-group-policy.html

The weird thing is that I couldnt find anywhere where policy was disallowed. Everything seemed to be not configured.
Anyway...thank you all for trying to help me.
Never had an issue using Driver Fusion before...but now ILL be forever leery about using it to update things

Well I didn't do anything but I am glad you got it resolved. And thanks for coming back on posting your solution.
Well, not sure what to say there. I personally have seen a need for a 3rd party program for this purpose. I personally think the hardware manufacturer is the best source for that.
