Unable To Delete Empty Folder

I have an empty folder. Win 8.1. File Explorer shows it as zero data, zero files. It is not read only. It has no hidden file/data. I am the owner and also an administrator. All users have all access to it.

When I try to delete it using File Explorer I get the message need permission from administrator to do it. Thne I get the message I need permission from MYSELF, THE OWNER, to delete it. This last message is repeated and repeated however many times I click OK.

What should I do?

Yes I have. Still will not delete. It originally a several files in it. I was able to use the IOBIT Shred option to get rid of those but the folder still remains. I have moved it from an external drive to the c drive with no luck.

Try enabling the hidden admin account and delete it in there. Open an elevated command prompt (i.e. As Administrator) and type

net user administrator /active:yes

Log in to the new admin user account and delete the folder there.

 

have you tried iobit unlocker and delete the folder that way.
