Is There A Music Program That Will Play M4p?

I used to play all my music on itunes way back around 2013 - 2016. Not sure of the exact time date but my old working computer with WinXP had itunes installed from that period. Now that I want to play my 1300 songs, there are 27 songs in m4p format won't play on a recent computer purchase.
I wish I could download that old itunes program that played all my songs.
Is there another music program that will play all my songs?

Googling turned THIS up - might be useful but haven't tried it myself.

Download a number of programs from your link and once downloaded I get this message:
    "Can't open file"
Tried this on my tablet, will go to my laptop maybe there is a problem because its a tablet.

Because this file is DRM-Protected, it cannot be converted.

Why not install iTunes to play the M4p files? It’s still available from Apple’s website or from the MS App Store.
You can try RealPlayer or even K-lite codec pack which comes with its own music/video player.

It won't play my cassettes, LPs, and 45s that I was able to convert over to itunes. itunes doesn't recognize that I didn't buy my music from their store.

ITunes happily plays all my converted music. Did you ensure you converted them to .aac or .MP3? ITunes only seems to recognise these file types for music.
Although I have found if I use another program to convert to .aac then iTunes doesn’t recognise the files so I have to use .MP3 in those cases.

Yes, when converting it reminded me to choose what format - I choose MP3.
Should I try .aac since MP3 didn't work?

    Yes, please try .aac.
Was the original program which played those files QuickTime?
If yes then you may be able to download it:

As .m4p are Apple store purchases then iTunes should be able to play them but you’ll need to authorise the PC with iTunes to do this.
You just need to sign into iTunes then choose authorise this PC.
Also as iTunes purchases have drm enabled you most likely will not be able to convert them/play them once converted.

It might be easier to see if you can find these 27 songs and download the mp3 versions.

I have over 100 albums from the 1960's through perhaps 1990's. I haven't been able to figure out how to record the songs from a USB turntable to my computer. I guess if I spent more time on the project I'd be able to do it. (I did figure out how to connect my cassette player to the computer and use Audacity to record all the tapes. Now the tapes are gone and I either burned a CD or saved some as mp3 files). What I've done is searched for some of the favorite songs on the albums I own, downloaded the mp4 from YouTube and then extracted the audio and saved it as an mp3 file.
I figure if anyone comes after me for piracy, I can show them the album I purchased with the song on it.

Do you have a Hi-Fi with a turntable?

I didn't keep any of my cassettes, CDs or vinyl records once I recorded them to itunes.

As an example I tried looking for one song, Chicago I'm a man (studio version) and found it on YouTube but as yet I don't know where to look to download mp3 version.

I tried to send you a PM but you don't allow conversations.
I'll explain in a PM what to do.

Okay, got it to work. Called itunes and they helped.
Now the question I have is, has anyone transferred their itunes to an Android phone? So far its not going well.
Maybe this should be posted as a new thread.
